So, the first part of this project was something I did a while back. The blog post for that one is Embroidery: Dual Hearts (Part 1), and the pattern I used can be found here. I recently picked up embroidery again after something of an unintended hiatus. As such, it is now time for the exciting conclusion. The second heart in the pattern is shown below:
This half of the pattern involved a few stitches I haven’t done before, including what the pattern calls the brick stitch, the whipped stem stitch, and the reverse chain stitch. Admittedly some of those still need work, but for my first time doing them, I’m fairly pleased. I also got to do a bit more with the split stitch, which just looks so pretty. That is what was used for the vine at the bottom of the piece. I think the texture and appearance of that one are really spiffy. I also think I might be getting the hang of french knots, which is definitely appreciated since so many patterns seem to call for french knots.

I definitely tried to keep similar colors in both, while changing things up a little. Overall, I think I like the effect, and I’m pleased with how the project came together. This project also helped me learn several stitches beyond what the previous projects included, and they gave me the opportunity to get a little more practice with some of the ones I did learn before.
I am currently on the hunt for my next embroidery project, and I’m kind of debating between seeking more new stitches to learn and finding a nice cross stitch pattern. We will see how that turns out.
